Our Team

Susanne
My passion is to help the unwanted, abused and neglected dogs. I live on a horse farm with my horses, my personal dogs, and my wonderful husband. I give love, patience and care to animals to succeed in their new home.

Mandi
I love all animals and live on a hobby farm with my family. We have opened our home and hearts to dogs of all sizes providing them with love, patience, socialization, and the feeling of being safe during their time with us until they find their furever home.

Cara
I am a second grade teacher in Knoxville. Having a deep love for dogs is something that has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Dogs are not just pets, but cherished memers of the family and deserve all the love and care in the world.

Nikki
I am a registered nurse as East TN Children’s Hospital in the emergency department. My kids and I live a fast and active lifestyle. We love animals of all kinds, and are always happy to meet new friends with animals.

Chris
I grew up in East TN and joined the Army in 2000. After spending 20 years away from TN working in the Army and as a federal civilian working with a variety of military personnel, I moved back to TN. I have always believed in helping animals, especially those with a rough backgrounds and am happy to be involved in helping animals in need to find their new family.

Filomena
I was born and raised in New Jersey. Before I got to Tennessee this past January, I lived in Delaware for seven years, where I found another passion in life besides my son, now 22 years old, and hiking. I began fostering at a shelter in 2020 and loved the dogs in my care but after about a year, I knew it wasn’t quite the best fit for me so I found a foster-based rescue I worked with for five wonderful years. I fostered and placed dogs I will never forget, I transported almost 400 puppy mill dogs from Ohio and Pennsylvania, I made friends I will have forever. In the last year of life in DE I retired and opened up my own canine boarding and transport service, Red Rocket Canine Pet Sitting and Transport Services, LLC which was so much fun I brought it here to Tennessee with me. My first order of business when I got settled was to find another foster-based rescue and was fortunate to come across this one. Not finding what I wanted here in Greene County, Knoxville is not too far away, especially for someone who will drive anywhere to go get a dog. Not only do I love working with 865 dogs but I’ve recently added training to my list of Red Rocket Services.
I am right where I want to be and so excited to grow with 865 Rescue and Rehome!
